Message from the President
Dear colleagues and friends,
As you plan your trip to ARVO, I hope that you will be able to arrive in time to attend the 21st Annual IOSS meeting that will be held Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Pomakai Ballroom at Dole Cannery, Honolulu, Hawaii.
The meeting program will feature sessions in the morning and afternoon on a variety of clinical and basic ocular surface topics, including ample time for discussion and networking. Our award lecturer is Dr. Mary Ann Stepp, Ph.D. and the title of her lecture is “Intraepithelial Corneal Nerves and Dry Eye: too many, too few, or too depolarized?” The afternoon mini-symposium has a theme of “Lacrimal gland pathology and regeneration” and has distinguished investigators on the field of lacrimal gland physiology and regeneration: Dr. Austin Mircheff, Dr. Driss Zoukhri, and Dr. Stefan Schrader.
I invite you to submit your Abstract by March 17, 2018, so we can better plan the meeting. You may be selected for either poster or paper presentations. Please email your abstract directly to email@example.com. Our website, www.ioss.org has also been updated to include online membership and meeting registration through PayPal.
The meeting will conclude with a cocktail reception. We hope you will join us this year for another exciting IOSS meeting!
Cintia De Paiva, M.D., Ph.D.
President, International Ocular Surface Society
